CRA RAAC Statement

 In News

As an organisation, we have been paying close attention to the UK government’s investigations into the use of RAAC in public sector buildings following the collapse of a primary school roof in 2018. The government’s announcement on 31 August 2023 released new guidance for education settings, advising that any space or area with confirmed RAAC should no longer be open without mitigations in place.

Our members will be guided by the technical outcomes of the inspections and analysis undertaken by professional engineers; we would also like to highlight that RAAC is not like traditional concrete and guidance has been issued by numerous advisory bodies, including the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE).
