Where did you hear about the CRA?

What is the CRA?

Formed in 1989, the CRA is committed to promoting and developing the practice of concrete repair and allied disciplines, as well as advancing education, technical training and health & safety matters in this specialist construction sector.

Member companies include specialist contractors, product manufacturers and product distributors established in the field of concrete repair, as well as associated organisations, such as testing laboratories.

Each full specialist contractor and product manufacturer member must be able to demonstrate a proven track record and overall proven ability. They are also obliged to be Q.A. Accredited to ISO 9000:2000 and BS EN 14001 (Environmental Standard) to conform to the Association's Codes of Practice and Training requirements.

By setting such self-regulating standards and procedures, engineers, authorities, clients and other specifiers are able to select from established professional organisations for concrete repair projects.

In 2014 Concrete Repair Association (CRA), Corrosion Prevention Association (CPA) and Sprayed Concrete Association (SCA) formed an Alliance aimed at providing a single co-ordinated voice for the structural concrete refurbishment and repair industry.

The new Alliance brings together over 100 companies drawn from contractors, manufacturers, distributors, consultants, test houses and equipment suppliers. It offers a single point of contact for major clients and a definitive source of information and advice for all involved in the repair, refurbishment and management of concrete infrastructure and the protection from corrosion of a wide range of structures.

The Alliance organises each year a series of free half day seminars, CPD approved, which are held throughout the UK. Subjects covered include the corrosion process, inspection and testing, repair methods, electrochemical processes and sprayed concrete. The Alliance has also introduced an Industry Awards which is held in conjunction each year with the Concrete Society Awards.
